汽车自燃其实每年都有，不管是电动汽车还是燃油车，但是最近一年特斯拉和比亚迪自燃被媒体大肆报道而被大家关注，大家以为新能源汽车自燃率很高，但根据数据统计，电动汽车自燃率依然低于燃油车自燃率。

根据公安部的数据，截止到今年3月，我们的新能源车保有量一共有891.5万辆，这么算的话，一季度电动汽车自燃率大概是万分之0.72。
2019年中国新能源车的起火概率为万分之0.49，2020年为万分之0.26。这么比起来，今年一季度这个概率确实提高了。但燃油车的自燃概率基本在万分之1-2之间。
此外，美国的相关数据也印证了这个情况，根据美国一家保险推荐网站AutoInsurance的调查，2020年美国汽车起火的事故约为20万起。其中，燃油车超过19万起，混合动力汽车1.6万起，纯电动车只有52起。结合美国的汽车保有量可算出，每10万辆汽车中发生火灾的车型比例为：混合动力汽车3475辆，燃油车为1529辆，纯电动车仅有25辆，起火率远低于前两者。
